(b. 1982, Italy) Luca Resta, lives and works in Paris.
His work as an artist is built from objects. He explores the social and cultural space he inhabits to refine a creative process that relates to the practices of accumulation, reproduction and transformation of materials. Like a form of contemporary archeology, he explores the vertigo of the series through endless collections of everyday forms: disposable cutlery, plastic packaging, hybrid objects, cardboard boxes, to more ephemeral elements. He investigates the narrative potential of these elements which gradually end up finding their place in his artistic imagination. From these experiences are born multiple projects, sculptural, sound or architectural, thanks to which he goes beyond the objects to explore the socio-cultural logics they represent, as well as to propose other ways of encounter between individuals and forms.
