What do we value today? Beyond what has a price tag, there are goods—tangible and intangible—whose preciousness is extrinsic and subjective. Their value is inestimable. In her first solo gallery exhibition, Alix Boillot brings together wishes, tattoos, trophies, encounters, tears, and orgasms. While these occurrences may seem unproductive, unprofitable, or sterile, they contain within them a piece of eternity.

Alix Boillot graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (2015). She creates sculptures, videos, protocol-based works, and performances, all of which share a quest for a certain aspect—romantic, mystical, playful—of our humanity, which attaches itself to things that have no value other than that which we assign to them. In other words, it is a question of gathering together tangible traces of our attachment to the sacred, to artifacts and rituals that resist modern productivism.

A resident of the Villa Medici in 2023-2024 and the Fiminco Foundation in 2024-2025, she now lives and works in Paris.
